Yes #10! This event is blooming great for all the family!

As ever there shall be cake from That Old Chestnut, fantastic hot, cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available from the wonderful Wharf Chambers bar, it will be free entry to all of those 14 and under (and only £4 for those 15 and above) and we have quite the line-up I can assure you…

THE VELVETEENS
https://www.facebook.com/velveteens

Describing themselves as “a 4-piece rock n roll band from Leeds. Inspired by music from the 50s/60s/70s.” which I would agree with but I think it also does them a bit of a disservice. These teen popsters mix up the wall of sound of the 1960’s with the new wave spark of the ’70’s and the woahs of the 50’s in such a perfect mix of guitars and harmonies that you’ll be bopping off the walls of Wharf Chambers.

THE SEVEN INCHES
https://theseveninches.bandcamp.com/

Nothing short of local legends, this mysterious group of troubedours will bring their unique brand of righteous, inspirational politically conscious indie-pop to the Youth Anthems world. Somehow managing to utilise Keytars, horns and cardboard instruments without even stepping near the world of novelty music, the Seven Inches really are a wonder to behold.

TEA LEAF

Poignant, intricate acoustic melodies on a Bright Eyes tip; bit of introspection with your cake if you will. Expect BIG things!

This gig will be a benefit for the wonderful Leeds City of Sanctuary and we’re more than happy to hand over all the door money to them! They describe themselves (very well!) “City of Sanctuary is a movement to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK. Our goal is to create a network of towns and cities throughout the country which are proud to be places of safety for people seeking sanctuary and helping them integrate into their local communities”.

As Kate Rosanne Johnson’s clothing swap shop continues to be such a success we will again be hosting, more information about that at:https://goo.gl/4mvuFM. If you have a suggestion for a local charity who would benefit from this then please get in touch.

We will also be using the gig as a collection point for the Leeds North Foodbank, please visit our website for more information on this and what foods they are after: https://goo.gl/Jxo7W3
